affiliated to the European Shiatsu School

The School was founded in 1995 by Idit Hourigan RPSSI and Diana Cassidy RPSSI in response to the growing need for Professional Shiatsu training in Ireland. It is an affiliated branch of the European Shiatsu School run by Chris Jarmey, based in England.

Courses are held in a centrally based location in Cork City close to bus and train stations.

a shiatsu treatment
Shiatsu is japanese.  It means finger pressure .
In practice, the giver uses fingers, thumbs, sometimes elbows and knees, and always concentrated focus and sensitivity, to ensure that the treatment will accurately meet and enhance the receiver's life-force
Usually the recipient lies on a mat or Futon, a japanese mat, on the floor and wears loose comfortable clothing.  The therapist applies appropriate pressure to Tsubos, acupressure points, and smoothes the flow of Ki, energy, in the meridians, charted energy pathways.
